The Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS) Certification recognizes the academic achievement and dedication to professional standards exhibited by code inspectors by demonstrating their knowledge in enforcing property maintenance standards, ensuring the safety and habitability of structures, and enforcing local zoning ordinances.
FCCA Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS) Requirements
1. Successfully obtain your FCCA Certified Code Compliance Inspector (CCCI) Certification.
2. Successfully complete the ICC Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector Exam (ID 64).
3. Successfully complete the ICC Zoning Inspector Exam (ID 75).
4. Complete the FCCA Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS) Application.
5. Certified Code Compliance Specialists may use the initials “CCCS” on business cards following their name.
Testing
The Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector Exam (ID 64) and the Zoning Inspector Exam (ID 75) can be taken online via the International Code Council (ICC) Proctored Remote Online Testing Option (PRONTO). You can register to take an exam through ICC's Assessment Center. The reference materials, study guides, and practice exams are available for purchase online through multiple sources or by purchasing them online through the ICC Store by searching for the exam you would like to take.
Recertification
To maintain your FCCA certification, you must maintain a current annual FCCA membership.
