FCCA Professional Certifications

Earn Your FCCA Certification Online!

The Florida Code Compliance Association (FCCA) was established to advance the practice and profession of the code compliance field statewide through training, certification, networking, and agency accreditation. The FCCA has developed a comprehensive and professional web-based training and development program consisting of three certification courses. These web-based courses are available  to active FCCA members and may be taken in any order you choose and entirely online at your own pace for what best fits your needs.

In addition to the web-based certification courses offered, the Florida Code Compliance Association (FCCA) offers four advanced certification levels for higher learning that are available to active FCCA members and can be completed entirely online. 

  • Certified Code Compliance Inspector (CCCI)
  • Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS) 
  • Certified Code Compliance Professional (CCCP)
  • Master Code Compliance Professional (MCCP)

Fundamentals of Code Compliance

Learn principles and best practices of code compliance and how to apply these to daily activities, inspection report writing and documentation, and performing research to locate property ownership and legal descriptions.

Code Compliance Safety

Legal Aspects of Code Compliance

Fundamentals of Code Compliance

Learn the basic skills of conflict resolution, human behavior, phases of contact, basic skills for animal encounters, situations involving hazardous materials, defensive mindset, and safety considerations for code inspectors.

Legal Aspects of Code Compliance

Learn to understand the legal aspects of code compliance, case development, the code board and special magistrate process, evidentiary issues and due process, and examine special legal issues and considerations relating to code compliance.

Certified Code Compliance Inspector (CCCI)

FCCA Certified Code Compliance Inspector (CCCI) Requirements

1. Successfully complete the FCCA Fundamentals of Code Compliance Course.

2. Successfully complete the FCCA Code Compliance Safety Course.

3. Successfully complete the FCCA Legal Aspects of Code Compliance Course.

4. Complete the FCCA Certified Code Compliance Inspector (CCCI) Application.

5. Certified Code Compliance Inspectors may use the initials “CCCI” on business cards following their name.


Recertification

To maintain your FCCA certification, you must maintain a current annual FCCA membership. 

Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS)

FCCA Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS) Requirements

1. Successfully obtain your FCCA Certified Code Compliance Inspector (CCCI) Certification.

2. Successfully complete the ICC Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector Exam (ID 64).

3. Successfully complete the ICC Zoning Inspector Exam (ID 75).

4. Complete the FCCA Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS) Application.

5. Certified Code Compliance Specialists may use the initials “CCCS” on business cards following their name.


Testing
The Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector Exam (ID 64) and the Zoning Inspector Exam (ID 75) can be taken online via the International Code Council (ICC) Proctored Remote Online Testing Option (PRONTO). You can register to take an exam through ICC's Assessment Center. The reference materials, study guides, and practice exams are available for purchase online through multiple sources or by purchasing them online through the ICC Store by searching for the exam you would like to take.


Recertification

To maintain your FCCA certification, you must maintain a current annual FCCA membership. 

Certified Code Compliance Professional (CCCP)

FCCA Certified Code Compliance Professional (CCCP) Requirements

1. Successfully obtain your FCCA Certified Code Compliance Specialist (CCCS) Certification.

2. Successfully complete the ICC Legal Module (MG).

3. Successfully complete the ICC Management Module (MM).

4. Complete the FCCA Certified Code Compliance Professional (CCCP) Application. 

5. Certified Code Compliance Professionals may use the initials “CCCP” on business cards following their name.


Testing
The Legal Module Exam (ID MG) and the Management Module Exam (ID MM) can be taken online via the International Code Council (ICC) Proctored Remote Online Testing Option (PRONTO). You can register to take an exam through ICC's Assessment Center. The reference materials, study guides, and practice exams are available for purchase online through multiple sources or by purchasing them online through the ICC Store by searching for the exam you would like to take.

Master Code Compliance Professional (MCCP)

FCCA Master Code Compliance Professional (MCCP) Requirements

1. Successfully obtain your FCCA Certified Code Compliance Professional (CCCP) Certification.

2. Successfully complete the ICC Residential Building Inspector Exam (ID B1).

3. Complete the FCCA Master Code Compliance Professional (MCCP) Application.

4. Master Code Compliance Professionals may use the initials “MCCP” on business cards following their name.


Testing
The Residential Building Inspector Exam (ID B1) can be taken online via the International Code Council (ICC) Proctored Remote Online Testing Option (PRONTO). You can register to take an exam through ICC's Assessment Center. The reference materials, study guides, and practice exams are available for purchase online through multiple sources or by purchasing them online through the ICC Store by searching for the exam you would like to take.


Recertification

To maintain your FCCA certification, you must maintain a current annual FCCA membership.
